Arrival at the airport of Calama and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama. Overnight in San Pedro de Atacama.


San Pedro de Atacama is the archaeological capital of Chile. We will visit the most important archaeological sites of the area and will travel to the past to learn about the origin of the Atacama or Licanantai culture. The Pukara de Quitor is not only important for the local history, but it is for the history of Chile through the battle of Quitor (1540) one of the first conflicts between Spaniards and Indians. In the Atacama farm we will see how a family combines the ancestral traditions of agriculture and livestock with tourism, tasting some local products, then the Tulor village corresponds to the oldest settlement at the Salt Flat of Atacama and one of the first tests of sedentary lifestyles in the region. And finally we will move to the Centre of San Pedro de Atacama to travel back in time up to the time of the colony, where one of the most symbolic is the Church of San Pedro, built and preserved until today from adobe, cactus wood, chañar and algarrobo, a national monument since 1951. Return to the hotel. In the afternoon we will travel to the south of San Pedro de Atacama where we will find Toconao, our first stop. This village was built with stone Liparita, we will visit its square full of history with its bell tower constructed in 1750 of adobe and wood of cactus and the Church of San Lucas, both national monuments. In the Valley of Jere we will see the real wealth of the Toconares, a cannon that due to its microclimate and the waters that come down from the mountains, it enjoys fertility and turns the sector into one of the most green places of the desert, we will see orchards of fruit trees and varied flora. Finally will visit the Soncor sector of the great Salt Flat of Atacama, National Reserve de los Flamencos at Laguna Chaxa we shall enjoy the varied species of birds and the color of flamingos, the deep blue sky of Atacama, the heights of the andean volcanoes and the red sunset will give us the farewell to return to San Pedro de Atacama. Our trip to the highlands begins during the early morning hours to finally reach one of the most important geothermal fields in the world, “Geysers de El Tatio” surrounded with water emanations and steam, we will enjoy the beauty of the Andes and with this natural stage we will offer you an agreeable breakfast. Then we will visit the "Pozon Rustico" where you will be able to enjoy the thermal waters that the mountain range gives us. Taking the road back to San Pedro de Atacama you will enjoy the beauty of the landscape, native flora and fauna to finally stop at the village of Machuca, shepherds of llamas place, today this town of adobe, straw and cactus wood House is dedicated to the tourism offering local products such as Andean handicraft, Llama's meat, Sopaipillas and empanadas. As an historical and architectural appeal we will visit the San Santiago Church, patron saint of the town. Afterwards, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama. In the afternoon we will visit the Moon Valley. In the middle of the deep dryness of the salt mountain range we find a landscape of salt and clay shaped by water and wind over millions of years. In our journey we will be able to enjoy the beauty delivered by extravagant forms that the cordillera mountain range gives us encouraging to imagination and reflection for your peace of mind. As we spend the afternoon we will go into the Death Valley and from there we will enjoy one of the best views of the Andes and its volcanoes, to finally finish watching the sunset that through its colorful gives us a wonderful end to our tour. Note: As mentioned, where El Tatio geysers is located, you also can find thermal water pools with mineral deposits, so it is recommended to take bath suit and towel.


Today we will travel to the West where we will find the "Cordillera de Domeyko", visiting Hierbas Buenas with a very historical importance on rock art It possesses one of the most important groups of petroglyphs in the region, a tour down the place will move us to the time of the caravans of indigenous people enriching our experience through history and culture. Right after and when crossing Matancilla, a valley rich in flora and fauna we find the Rainbow Valley, a unique place in the world, named so for the various colors that the presence of minerals gives the mountains, and because it is as if a rainbow had fallen asleep and gradually lowered to fall asleep in the mountains to not wake up again. After a short walk to enjoy the landscape, record it in your memories and photographs, then we will visit the village of Rio Grande, bathed by the river that bears the same name, we will enjoy the original colonial architecture preserved among its streets, a village frozen in time will give us an end to this trip by wonderful places and times. Return to hotel. In the afternoon we will visit the Puritama Hot Springs. These are located 3.500 mt/11.482 ft above sea level and 30 km/18.64 mi from San Pedro de Atacama. 30 km to the northeast of San Pedro de Atacama we find the river Puritama, its waters that are born in the mountains take temperature because of the proximity with volcanic material and flow to the surface in this place, the sector is conditioned with the necessary basic services and terraces in each of the pools.
